It is also important to remember that they each help you rethink the others, so try and learn them all, because objections to a single metaphor will be answered by another. How you then might do analyses in real life with real people is a topic covered elsewhere (Guerin, forthcoming). What will be different after rethinking? To help you decide whether to read further or not, let me outline how your thinking might be different after reading this book.

Instead of thinking in terms of a separate and unchanging part of the object or organism storing and processing a representation of whatever just happened in order to plan the next move, we can think it through in another way: that the organism is directly changed by what happens, and those changes are already part of the context for the next actions without anything else having to be processed or decided or planned in a middle sequence.
